RESER’S EXPANDS HALIFAX NORTH CAROLINA PLANT

Beaverton, OR, January 4, 2010 – –Reser’s announced today plans to expand its food manufacturing facility in Halifax, North Carolina. “We’re excited to bring economic development to the local community and to better serve our customers along the east coast,” stated CEO Al Reser.
Consumers crunched for time, but hungry for wholesome food, are helping drive demand for many of the firm’s “comfort food classics.” Built in 2001, the original 160,000-square-foot plant in the Halifax Industrial Center produces a variety of refrigerated products including macaroni and pasta salads, puddings, gelatin desserts. This latest expansion involves primarily fresh tortilla production, a popular and very large market in the U.S. Reser’s anticipates further expansion in the next several years.
“We’re investing in this facility so that both employees and the people of Halifax County can be proud, and so that we can continue to produce great products,” said Al Reser.
Close Collaboration Key to Expansion
Many government, business and community leaders worked collaboratively on this project. “I would like to personally thank Gov. Perdue for helping us finalize this project. In addition, the Halifax County commissioners and Cathy Scott, executive director of the Halifax Economic Development Commission, provided invaluable assistance along the way,” said Al Reser.
