From the Driver’s Seat:

Erik Jones: “Pocono is a track where I actually have a good bit of experience. I ran some ARCA races there, some Truck races, some Xfinity races, so I’ve made a lot of laps around the track and I’ve always felt comfortable. It’s a fun place to go in the Cup Series especially with as challenging as it is with the shifting and getting your car to handle in all three corners. We didn’t have the best ending to our first race there earlier this year, but I’m ready to get back there and have a solid day in the Reser’s Camry.”

From the Pit Box:

Chris Gayle: “This team has one event under its belt at Pocono this season. We had decent speed and could have contended for a top 10 before getting caught up in a late-race wreck on a restart. So this will be a good test to see how well this team does at improving performance from a first event to a second event in the same season. We feel like we have some good notes from the first event and a better handle on what we need to do to be more competitive in the second event. This event is a little different schedule and will also be an impound event which will change everyone’s qualifying package from the spring event. I feel like if we can go and improve on our starting position, and just get our race setup a touch better we can have a really strong finish and let Pocono be the start to another streak of top 10’s or better.”
